Season 1 · Episode 1
Rosa Wilder has returned to Oberwies, the village where she was born in the Swiss Alps. As a major building project is being planned to bring life back the little mountain community, a murder throws everything in question.
The murder of Armon Todt and the kidnapping of the daughter of the billionaire Al-Baroudi cause fear and suspicion in Oberwies to reach fever pitch. The tension is palpable as each villager seems to have something to hide.
The bodyguard is under suspicion by the investigative team, and Kägi and Wilder find a way to lure him into a trap. Meanwhile, the apprentice cook, Jakob Siegenthaler, has also drawn police attention.
In order to save the Oberwies building project, Rossi, the federal prosecutor, concludes an agreement with the investor Al-Baroudi and wants the case closed as quickly as possible.
An explanation for the landslide is found in Oberwies. An agreement on hush money and a distorted photograph on a mobile phone prompt a resumption of the investigation.
Rosa finally corners the perpetrator, with tragic consequences.
