Archie Bunker, a working class bigot, constantly squabbles with his family over the important issues of the day.

Guan Shu Hui's (Paige Chua) domineering ways causes a rift between her husband Qi Hong Zhe (Thomas Ong) and his family. Hong Zhe is unhappy with his wife but chooses to put up with her, until Zhou Ke En (Chris Tong) enters his life. Ke En is pretty, intelligent and most of all, she listens to Hong Zhe's problem and supports his dreams. Ke En also manages to win the approval of Hong Zhe's family, leaving Shu Hui feeling helpless. Shu Hui's estranged mother Lu Xiu Zhu (Li Ping Chen) steps in and tries to salvage her daughter's marriage. Xiu Zhu tries to outwit Ke En who is actually a malicious and mentally unstable woman. How will the battle between the mightiest mistress and the mightiest Mother-in-Law end? Will Shu Hui be able to save her marriage?

The film depicts the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The funny stories that happen to their close relatives and neighbors also form the plot of the series.

The series revolves around the main character, Sergei Krymov (the owner of a travel agency), and his common-law wife, Svetlana, who is suddenly visited by her mother, Antonina Mikhailovna, from the village. His mother-in-law quickly finds common ground with Sergei's daughter from his first marriage, Dasha, but the differences in their upbringing and outlook on life become a source of constant clashes with Sergei's sister, Valeria. Gradually, Antonina Mikhailovna learns that her daughter and Sergei are not married, and she tries in every way to facilitate this, sometimes using very unusual methods. Furthermore, at the travel agency "Krymov and Co.", where Sergei and Svetlana work, every day brings new, sometimes intractable, problems. But the resourceful mother-in-law will always find a solution, even if the situation initially seems hopeless.

The series was developed with France's Dargaud Media and Ellipsanime and is the third animated series based on the comic strip Garfield, following Garfield and Friends and The Garfield Show. It is similar to Garfield Quickies and The Garfield Shorts, a series of short films containing gags, and was first showcased on Dargaud Media and Mediatoon Distribution's website, then officially announced on the official Garfield website. Garfield Originals has been acquired by ViacomCBS, as part of the company's purchase of the franchise.
