When Mindy's brother visits from college, he tells Mindy that he wants to drop out and start a rap career, immediately causing Mindy to panic. Meanwhile, Danny and Jeremy lift the spirits of their elderly landlord with the hopes that she will reduce their office rent.
Mindy's goddaughter, Riley, demands that Mindy get a bunk bed for their sleepover. But Mindy's plan veers off-track when Morgan and Danny help to build the bed, and it collapses, injuring Gwen in the process. Meanwhile, Shauna and Betsy find some surprising items when they snoop through the office in an attempt to find out who's stealing the People magazines.
Mindy wants a one-night stand with Brendan, the midwife who once stole her patients, but things go wrong when Brendan's brother, Duncan, and Morgan show up. Meanwhile, Eye Patch and Danny go out on a date.
Mindy thinks she finally meets the perfect guy, Jaime, only to find that he's way too close to his female best friend, Lucy. Then, when Danny gets dumped by Jillian, he tries his best to get her back with the help of Morgan.

Mindy says yes, but immediately begins to plot ways to ruin Heather's rental application.

When Mindy decides to have a night out by herself in the city, she hits it off with a stunningly handsome man who turns out to be a prostitute.

But Mindy is in for a surprise when she discovers why Josh moved west. Meanwhile, Morgan helps Jeremy work on a potentially career-changing presentation, which doesn’t go according to plan.
