When Jed starts his first day at Evergreen Academy, he finds out that he is one of only three boys attending the formerly all-girls school.
Miranda invites the boys to her birthday party, where she wants to sacrifice two virgins.
The school hires a new counselor to speak to the student about drugs. The boys discover pot in their locker room and when word gets out that Cary has some, he becomes instantly popular with some of the girls.
The Evergreen Academy stages a Bow Down week, where senior students select juniors to be their slaves. Cary is picked by Carrie, who calls him Dorothy in an attempt to humiliate him, Phil decides the best way to go about things is to agree to Judy's demands, while Jed is picked by Joely, a lesbian basketball player.
Cary struggles with his masculinity when he is humiliated by a Fort Union student and decides to seek revenge. Jed becomes jealous when he discovers Kate on a date with Phil.
Jed, Kate, Cary and Stella go to New York for a Model UN summit.
When Stella gets severely drunk, the gang spend the night on the Evergreen campus.
When Jed is dating Miranda and Kate, he is forced to decide who he really wants to be with. Cary and Stella befriend a band geek in order to keep there relationship a secret.

Payne is an American television series, patterned after the British program Fawlty Towers. It starred American actor John Larroquette, who portrayed assistant district attorney Dan Fielding on the American television program Night Court. Larroquette was also an executive producer for the series. Payne was a mid-season replacement on CBS and aired in March and April 1999. The show also starred JoBeth Williams, Julie Benz and Rick Batalla. Despite fairly positive reception, and receiving the blessing of John Cleese, who agreed to take a recurring role if the show was renewed, Payne was quickly cancelled. Nine episodes were filmed; eight were aired. The show is not available on DVD.

Their oldest child Donnie ia a high-school sports legend. Ren, an 8th-grader, is just about the perfect daughter. She makes the best grades, she's popular, she does volunteer work and other extracurricular tasks by the score. Her brother Louis, in the 7th grade, is her opposite. He likes to sleep late, he's messy, his grades are not good, he's frequently in detention and he seems to take nothing seriously. But he is serious about finding something of his own that he can do to put himself on a par with the rest of his overachieving family. Though he and Ren occasionally soften their attitudes toward each other, at any given moment the're likely to be fighting like mongoose and cobra.

Although there is a town in California called Sunset Beach, the show's beach scenes were shot on nearby Seal Beach. The show was co-produced by NBC and Spelling Television.
