A flu epidemic has hit Ballyfermot and Roy finds himself the only student in his class. He is determined to get ill so he can have time off like his classmates but can a cartoon boy get sick?
Roy and his classmates take part in a competition to raise the most money for charity. Roy finds his fund-raising ideas going badly wrong, especially when he turns his hand to busking.
Roy takes his new games consul to school but has it taken off him by Mr. Hammond. He goes wandering around the school to get it back but can he do it without the teachers noticing the world's only cartoon boy is missing from class?
Mr. Hammond announces that a talent show is coming to the school and one of the judges will be its most famous ex-pupil - Tara Loveworth. Roy goes to see a horror movie against his parents' instruction and then has nightmares that keep the whole family awake. Cathy teases him about getting scared but can he overcome his fears and get his own back on her?
Becky becomes a vegetarian and Maura cooks a nut roast for the family. Roy is less than impressed with the new food and pulls a face which then freezes as it gets caught in the wind. He is hugely embarrassed but nothing seems to change it so maybe he will have to face up to his new look.
Roy and his classmates have to take part in key tests with Mr. Hammond determined the school gets good results to finish high in the league tables. Roy's parents go to see his teacher Miss Sheringham and it is clear she doesn't expect Roy to do well - and nor does he. Roy gets particularly worried when Kathy tells him he might be sent to a special school if he doesn't do well. Roy seeks some advice from top student Tommy on how to do well but takes it rather literally.
The students have hacked into the school computer to prevent the teachers printing test papers but Roy accidentally gives away the new password. The other children are annoyed with him and an angelic halo appears over his head to his huge embarrassment. Roy wants to get rid of the halo but how can he now change his new reputation?
An inspection is due at Ballyfermot and Mr. Hammond is determined that the school - and him - get an excellent report. He thinks the way to do this will be to make sure Roy is absent on the day but could his devious plan backfire?
