Episode 1

YUNG loses the contest even if she is using fresh fish while HIU is using a frozen fish. YUNG leaves angrily but she doesn’t stop suppressing the business of Yuet Long Sa. While trying to protect HIU from YUNG’s attack, LUNG’s MP3 player is broken and YUNG scolds her angrily. LUNG feels very stressful at work but she tries not to reveal it to her mother HONG SAU-HING. Her only wish is to support her younger brother CHOI SZ-LONG in continuing his studies. HIU tries to fight against YUNG with the help of food critic TONG O. He asks YING to go to Hokkaido and invites CHING to be a fish buyer for them. YING accidentally throws away the doll of CHING’s missing daughter to the sea and CHING is enraged. HIU sends LUNG a new MP3 player. LUNG reveals YUNG’s plan to HIU and this helps HIU’s restaurant to escape from a crisis. While searching for the doll, YING accidentally finds KEUNG dining with her parents……

CHING, YING and KEUNG go to the fish market together. They accidentally discover the doll inside a fish’s body. CHING tries to test YING’s skills by asking him to prepare high-class sushi with second-class fishes. KEUNG plays trick by buying high-class sushi and CHING discovers it. YING goes to look for KEUNG at the hotel. He finds that KEUNG’s parents are leaving and they ask him to reveal the truth to KEUNG. KEUNG realizes everything on her birthday and she is heart-broken. YING consoles her by accompanying her all the way and KEUNG is deeply touched. In order to help YING, KEUNG apologizes to CHING sincerely and CHING finally agrees to be the buyer for them. YUNG scolds LUNG for helping HIU and LUNG feels upset. HIU comes to console LUNG and LUNG feels warm. HIU accidentally discovers that WONG had killed LUNG’s father in a car accident long time ago. HIU used to give money to HING for keeping the secret……

HIU decides to stop seeing LUNG. He stops picking up phone calls from her and he throws away the movie ticket she gave him. YING picks up the movie ticket and he meets LUNG at the cinema. He discovers that LUNG is the one he loved long time ago. HIU refuses to continue dating with LUNG. LUNG leaves and she meets YING in the park. YING cheers her up and HIU witnesses it. CHING’s fishes arrive and this helps to solve the restaurant’s crisis. YUNG brings a celebrity to dine at Yuet Long Sa and the celebrity pretends to be suffering from food poisoning afterwards. This creates a heavy blow to the restaurant’s business. In order to promote the restaurant, YING starts distributing leaflets on the street and he meets KEUNG again. HIU enrolls for a sushi contest organized by the TV station. He practices all the time and hurts his finger accidentally……

With the help of LUNG, HIU discloses to everybody that YUNG is framing their restaurant by asking the celebrity to tell lies. He also reveals to everybody that he is the illegitimate son of WONG and he declares challenge to YUNG. YUET and YING are surrounded by the media all the time and they find it stressful. YUNG lies to LUNG that HIU is the driver who killed her father and he wants her to help fighting against HIU. LUNG gives HIU a chance to reveal the truth but HIU doesn’t speak a word. LUNG eventually decides to support YUNG in fighting against HIU. KEUNG has nowhere to go and she stays in YING’s home temporarily. KEUNG behaves like a princess and everybody finds her funny. YUNG hires HIU’s master LAU CHING-SHAU, the “King of Knives”, to compete with HIU for they used to have conflicts in the past. LUNG meets HIU on the street again and she tries to follow HIU but HIU doesn’t pay attention to her at all……

KEUNG is penniless and she has to walk all the way home. YING is worried for KEUNG is not back at night and he goes out to look for her. KEUNG gives HIU a precious knife that she has been keeping for a long time. HIU develops a new way to cut the squid with the new knife. HIU meets up with LUNG and YING witnesses it accidentally. YING is devastated and KEUNG consoles him. YUNG wants LUNG to ruin the relationship between HIU and YING but LUNG doesn’t want to harm YING. In order to prevent HIU from winning the contest, LUNG lies to YUET that YUNG will ask somebody to cut HIU’s right hand if he wins. LUNG meets YUNG’s son YU CHI-PO who just returns from abroad. YUNG and the other wives used to fight a lot in the past and PO suffered from serious fever because of them when he was just a child.

HIU loses the contest because of his family members’ interruptions. After the contest, LUNG reveals to HIU that she is actually taking a revenge on him. HIU is enraged and he tries to air his anger over the others. He fights with YING and scolds KEUNG harshly. KEUNG leaves the house angrily but she eventually manages to find the way home with YING’s Commoner’s Manual. YUNG takes over Yuet Long Sa. YUET tries not to fight with YUNG but YUNG still slaps YUET on her face. TONG OH suggests HIU to join the Yee Sushi contest in Japan so as to obtain the franchise and start anew. YING tries to support HIU by becoming his assistant and he prepares sushi rice with KEUNG. After looking at some old photos, KEUNG discovers that a woman called CHIYOKO is related to her real mother and she decides to find her origin by joining the Hokkaido trip. CHIYOKO is a good friend of CHING’s runaway wife but she loses her memory after a serious injury.

LUNG tries to look for HIU in Japan for she has promised YUNG to destroy their plan in exchange for money to cure her mother’s serious liver cirrhosis. CHING is upset for he fails to find his wife. He scolds HIU and the others unreasonably. HIU cannot bear the humiliation and he leaves the house. HIU pays no attention to LUNG. YUNG tries to put a lot of pressure on LUNG. On the contest day, HIU performs satisfactorily but the judge asks him to join a playoff because he is getting the same mark with another contestant. KEUNG chases after the lighting bugs in the countryside for she wants to make a wish. She accidentally finds her mother’s grave. CHING follows the lighting bugs and discovers his wife’s grave as well. He also discovers that KEUNG has been there. HIU and YING finally win the playoff and they become the finalists. HIU reunites with LUNG and he apologizes to LUNG for her father’s death……

KEUNG decides to return to Hong Kong. YING asks her to stay and help persuading CHING to find good ingredients them. HIU and LUNG meet YING and KEUNG on the street. HIU asks LUNG to hide away for he doesn’t want YING to be unhappy. CHING is ashamed for being rude to the brothers and he decides to help them catching fresh eels in the sea. YING tries to create chance for KEUNG and CHING to talk with each other but KEUNG insists to wait for them by the shore. KEUNG and CHING’s landlord TIN KA-SHUI stays by the shore together. SHUI tries to ask KEUNG for opinions on CHING but KEUNG points out that SHUI loves CHING secretly. CHING thinks that HIU doesn’t know how to respect others or the ingredients and therefore he is not going to become a top chef. YING is keeping the special-made soy sauce for the contest but LUNG destroys it secretly. HIU is in despair and he decides to steal other’s soy sauce as suggested by LUNG……

YING finally accepts CHING’s suggestion to join the contest for HIU. HIU believes that YING is not qualified yet but CHING believes that YING has potential and he decides to give him an intensive training. YING fails to cut the eel within the time limit and CHING scolds him angrily. Encouraged by KEUNG, YING finally accomplishes the task. HIU doesn’t want to be replaced and he tries to practice again but this makes his injury even worse. LUNG is ashamed and she reveals the truth to HIU. HIU is deeply shocked. KEUNG tries very hard to find other new ingredients to replace the specially made soy sauce and she finally develops a new soy sauce. On the contest day, YUNG comes to watch the show but YING wins the contest unexpectedly and he obtains the franchise of Yee Sushi. YUNG leaves angrily. HIU leaves the venue alone and he meets LUNG on the street. HIU decides to forget the past and start anew with LUNG……

YING learns that CHING used to be an excellent Japanese cuisine chef and he wants to invite him to work in Hong Kong but CHING rejects. KEUNG helps to persuade CHING and CHING finally agrees to have YING as his apprentice. HIU suddenly suggests LUNG to continue working for YUNG so as to earn a living and support her family. YING and the others return to Hong Kong. CHING calls YING immediately to check if everything is fine with KEUNG. YING seizes the chance to persuade CHING to return to Hong Kong. HING’s condition is not good at all. LONG refuses to listen to LUNG. He decides to do part-time job while continuing his studies in Hong Kong. After quarreling with YUNG, PO leaves angrily. LUNG meets him on the street and she sends him home. Because of this, YUNG allows LUNG to work for her again. CHING and SHUI come to Hong Kong together. CHING hopes to improve his relationship with KEUNG while helping YING in the sushi restaurant……

KEUNG comes out to speak for YING eloquently and LAI becomes speechless. HIU is shocked that Yuet Long Sa’s name has changed and he swears that he will get it back. After kicking away LAI, both KEUNG and Yee Sushi become very famous and many reporters come to interview KEUNG. KEUNG decides to become a food critic and she starts writing for a Japanese magazine. People from different places start to pay attention to Yee Sushi and some food critics from a famous international food magazine are coming to try their sushi as well. HIU tries to use his right hand again without letting everybody know but an old customer comments that his is not as skillful as YING. HIU is very upset and he doesn’t want YING to succeed. When the food critics from the international food magazine arrive, HIU deliberately prepares bad quality tea and this affects the critics’ general impression on the shop……

LUNG apologizes to HING in the hospital and they reconcile with each other. HING’s condition is getting worse. LUNG calls HIU for help but HIU doesn’t pick up the phone for he is teaching PO how to declare his love to LUNG. HING dies eventually and YUNG is the only one who comes to console her. After the death of HING, LUNG decides to continue staying with YUNG and PO for they really treat her kindly. KEUNG tries hard to develop a special soy sauce for YING and she finally develops the Chief Chef Soy Sauce. The business is greatly improved because of this. CHING suggests producing the soy sauce in large quantity and this helps KEUNG to earn her first pot of gold. HIU reveals to YING that he has recovered completely and he would like to declare challenge to him. YING is worried and he discusses it with KEUNG. KEUNG tells him that he wants to hide away just because he is afraid to win……

YUNG is seriously ill and she is sent to the hospital. She begs LUNG to marry PO and takes good care of him. HIU suddenly arrives at the hospital and he urges LUNG to marry PO so that he could take control of Tai Wong Restaurant Group. He reveals that LUNG has caused him to lose Yuet Long Sa and she needs to compensate him. LUNG finally agrees to marry PO as a compensation for what she has done to HIU in the past. In order to help LUNG, YING agrees to compete with HIU. If YING wins, LUNG doesn’t need to marry PO. LONG is upset that LUNG insists to marry PO and he leaves home disappointedly. HIU and YING go to Japan to compete with each other. YING is defected for he is too eager to win. HIU takes over Yee Sushi and YING starts wandering around in Hokkaido. KEUNG goes to Japan immediately to look for YING and CHING also comes to help her but they fail to find YING……

YING rejects KEUNG coldly and KEUNG leaves sadly. PO doesn’t know what is love but he follows YUNG’s will to marry LUNG eventually. On their wedding day, YUNG dies happily and LUNG becomes PO’s only caretaker. KEUNG and YING are both staying in Hokkaido but they appear to be strangers. KEUNG discovers something from her mother’s grave and she realizes that CHING is her father. KEUNG refuses to accept CHING as her father and she wanders around on the street. YING goes to look for KEUNG immediately and he starts recalling the goodness of KEUNG. They finally become lovers by the seashore. KEUNG refuses to go back to CHING and SHUI persuades her to return home. KEUNG finally returns but she doesn’t want to name CHING as father. YING doesn’t want to go back to Hong Kong and KEUNG is dissatisfied……

CHING brings YING to the temple and hopes that he could forget all about sushi. HIU becomes the president of Tai Wong Restaurant Group and he concentrates fully on expanding the business. He also fires HONG and YUET is very sad. LUNG hands over everything to HIU and she hopes that HIU could let go of his hatred. CHING reveals that he is ashamed for what he has done to his wife and he hopes that KEUNG could cherish her relationship with YING. After staying in the temple for a period of time, YING still cannot forget all about sushi. Encouraged by KEUNG, YING finally agrees to go back to Hong Kong with her and CHING. While looking for YUET at the temple, YING meets HIU. HIU teases YING by saying that he is a wild child without any parents. YUET doesn’t know what to do and she decides to continue staying in the temple. YING has nowhere to go and he stays in CHING’s home temporarily. HIU is a self-centered person……

With the help from CHING, YING finally gets Japan One successfully and this also helps reviving the reputation of Yee Sushi. KEUNG finally regards CHING as her father and they make carp flags together. HIU organizes food-tasting event and the reporters question him if YING has pretended to be defeated by HIU so that HIU could go to study in Japan. HIU cannot bear the suspicions and he decides to declare challenge to YING again. YING has to prepare sushi for a famous Japanese athlete called NAGASAWA. He is too nervous and mistakenly uses some problem ingredients. NAGASAWA is sent to the hospital because of food poisoning and YING is sued because of this. The business of Yee Sushi is affected as well. HIU tells the reporters that YING is not experienced enough and YING loses his confidence again. YING finds no support from LUNG and YUET. He suddenly decides to marry KEUNG but CHING thinks that this is not the right time yet……

KEUNG decides to break up with YING for she wants him to concentrate on his works again. HIU treats PO badly and LUNG is dissatisfied. She wants to have an abortion for she feels that this is unfair to PO. HIU discovers that LUNG is pregnant and he goes to question PO immediately for he wants to know if he is the father of the child. LUNG is very upset for she thinks that HIU only treats her as a tool and he doesn’t really care about her. HONG tells LUNG that her wedding agreement with PO is not valid and she could take charge of her life according to her will. LUNG decides to leaves PO and breaks up with HIU. She wants to start anew overseas. HIU is very sad after the departure of LUNG and he returns home eventually. YUET reminds HIU that his family and loved ones are more important than his works. YING prepares sushi for PO and he starts to have confidence in sushi-making again. He also accompanies PO to make sushi in the orphanage……

YING accepts TONG OH’s criticisms and he works harder to make better sushi. OH is actually appointed by KEUNG for KEUNG wants YING to improve. YING discovers it accidentally and he misconceives that KEUNG is fighting against him. He therefore declares to the reporters that he has no relationship with KEUNG anymore. HIU goes to Hokkaido to look for LUNG. LUNG only agrees to reconcile with HIU if he could pass her tests. Inspired by the orphans, YING develops a new style of sushi and CHING is very satisfied with it. KEUNG is pleased for her sacrifices are justified. HIU and YING reconcile with each other. YING decides to accept HIU’s challenge so as to resolve their past misunderstanding. HIU meets CHING at Yee Sushi and they compete with each other. Both gain better understanding on each other through the competition and they begin to appreciate each other……

Before the competition, YING prepares sushi for KEUNG to show his love to her. HIU and YING use “Life” as the main theme of their competition. They make special sushi based on their own life experiences and it is really hard to decide who is the winner. KEUNG is caught in a car accident while rushing to watch the competition. After the surgery, KEUNG remains unconscious. YING and CHING stay in the hospital until KEUNG wakes up. However, KEUNG has lost all her memory on YING and she kicks YING away. YING doesn’t give up and he prepares sushi for KEUNG everyday. KEUNG doesn’t remember YING but she is deeply touched. She decides to find her memory with CHING in Hokkaido. YING also decides to move to Hokkaido to experience life and learn more. He hopes that KEUNG will remember him one day and they can start a new life together.
