It's Elani, Karima and Fezile's first day as interns at the Beyers Naudé Academic Hospital. A medical mystery baffles Veronica and Elani.
Elani has made a fatal mistake and must reflect on her sins. Jolene's gang leader patient is recovering, while there are complications with a little girl who was shot.
Sollie finds out that Veronica doesn't play open cards. Fezile asks Gustav to do the operation on his father instead of Jolene. Tyson and his mother receive devastating news.
Karima struggles with a difficult decision. A patient, Henk, disappears from the operating table while Fezile had to look after him. Louw is stuck in the elevator with a pregnant woman going into labor.
Elani loses a very dear battle at work and cannot handle the pressure of her daily occupation. Veronica and Sollie's mothers come to visit to try to save their marriage.
Louw and Karima get married and he does not adapt well to married life. Fezile performs a breast implant on a trans woman. Jolene's past catches up with her when she has to save her stepfather's life.
Veronica's divorce takes a turn. Elani gets admission to complete her internship in London. Louw and Karima's new marriage is not all moonlight and roses. Fezile helps Jolene out of trouble.
It looks like Elani is moving to London. Everything in Veronica's house gets stolen. Suzanne realizes that Daniël doesn't love her and Jolene completely loses it at her stepfather's funeral service.
Jolene is forced to confront her skeletons when she is sent to drug rehab. Fezile's father loses his battle against all his health problems.
Gustav decides to extend Jolene's sentence. Marius convinces Jolene to move in with him again. Daniel invites Veronica for a meal at his house which goes horribly wrong.
Elani tells her mother that she has decided to stay in South Africa after all, but is not ready for the consequences. Suzanne convinces Gustav to drop his feud with Jolene.
Elani moves in with Veronica and Jolene. A sick patient causes the entire casualty department to be closed. Gustav gets a big setback. Louw finally tells Karima the truth.
After all the excitement of the previous episode, two marriages are falling apart. Karima's baby is born early. Daniel finally makes a choice about his future.
