With another season in Antarctica fast approaching, Captain Bob Tarrant prepares to hand over the HMS Endurance to a new skipper.
New Captain Gavin Pritchard is put to the test as engine trouble, a nasty blizzard and a fighting sailor interrupt the crew's work.
Now in South Georgia, the Endurance crew assist the British Antarctic Survey. Also, four Marines retrace the famous 'Shackleton Walk'.
With the Endurance taking in water due to a faulty valve and stuck, powerless, at the mercy of the sea, the crew move fast to avoid capsizing.
