Henk, a mole, lives in a verdant grassland of Holland in company of his friend Johan Kwak, bachelor duck having a sabot as a house. He presents Johan to Anna, a charming duck lady.
After Alfred's parents and siblings die in a traffic incident, Henk the mole takes him in his house. On his birthday, Alfred and his friends visit the royal palace where Pikkie steals the crown jewel.
Alfred threatens, wrongly, to be sentenced to death for the theft of the crown jewel, but does not dare to betray Pikkie. Pikkie struggles with the same internal conflict.
Alfred is bullied by Dolf because his father is a mole. When they fight, Alfred discovers Dolf also is not a real crow, but colors its beak black with shoe polish.
Alfred and Dolf are stuck in a well. Henk is outside looking for Alfred, but Krabnagel de cat is also seeking the two young birds.
A triathlon is organized for the youth of Polderstad. Dolf could not participate because of his injury, so he trains Hannes in the hope he can beat Alfred. Since Hannes' condition is very bad, Dolf comes up with the idea to steal energy pills.
Alfred and a few others join the sea scouting, and are getting ready for a race against Groot Musland. Professor Hannibal has invented a ingenious system, but Igor de Mus infiltrates on board to sabotage this with Lispel.
Alfred is mistaken for the spy and imprisoned since. Igor and Lispel now have free reign, but are eventually unmasked.
Alfred moves in a new house for his own and gets a antique bottle as a gift from Ollie. Little did they know that the bottle comes from a far eastern country and there is an evil spirit trapped in it.
Carried away by his fantasy, Alfred opens the enchanted bottle. When the genie tries to eat Alfred, he manages to drive the genie back in the bottle, and the bottle goes back again to the east.
Alfred wants to become a clown in a circus. He is accepted rather quickly, when the local circus clown is too ill to perform. But things turn haywire when a wild man breaks loose during the performance.
Polderstad is plagued by a number of mysterious burglaries. After Alfred falls asleep while playing chess with Henk, The White Queen comes to life and takes Alfred outside.
Krabnagel de Kater is suspected of the burglaries and captured. Alfred believes his adventure with The White Queen was a dream, until Krabnagel mentions Alfred in his alibi, so Alfred and The Queen confront Dolf.
Alfred and Henk travel to sea where they discover that Professor Hannibal has invented a advanced fishing boat.
Alfred and Henk are gonna look for Wiedewiedewagen the saw fish, hoping that he can saw the modern fishing boat in half.
Hannibal and K. Rokodil prepare an even better computer-controlled boat. Alfred and Henk leave for the South Pole, to find whales that could block the port of Polderstad.
Alfred and Henk cast ashore on a deserted island. They meet a group of duck-like aliens who occasionally come to the island to harvest a special kind of fruit.
On their way to the South Pole, Alfred and Henk are attacked by an octopus that wants to eat them, they bribe him with the food from the aliens. In the evening they meet the polestar who helps leading the way.
At the South Pole, Professor Paljas tries to communicate with the whales. Alfred and Henk go into battle with a whaler, but the invention of the professor proves useful.
Alfred has a dream about Zonder Waterland, where there's no water and improvident development aid. Alfred tries to establish a fund to make money for digging channels in Zonder Waterland.
The public purse is empty, and the king loans money on interest rate from Alfred. After three months, there is nothing repaid and Alfred, accompanied by some bees, tries to get his money back.
Dolf returns from abroad, unexpectedly inherits a fortune and start a revolutionary party. Most people underestimate him, but gradually de Kraaienpartij begins to incarcerate dangerous opponents.
Alfred, Ollie, Rangpang and Jonkheer Poen are incarcerated by Dolf. Henk and Igor help them to flee to Breed Rietland, now it is no longer safe in Groot Waterland.
The king is deposed and escaped to Breed Rietland. Only the destruction of Dolf's capital could break his regime. Alfred and Rangpang secretly return to accomplish this.
With the help of the families of Snuif de muis and Igor, Alfred and Rangpang manage to steal Dolfs money, just before he wanted to start a genocide against mice and rats and a war against neighboring countries.
Alfred and Professor Paljas make a trip to the Homoloyo mountain area hoping to discover the abominable snowman. The habitat of the snowman is threatened because businessmen, led by K. Rokodil, want to build a ski resort in the mountains.
