Episode 1

MEI gives up having the breast implant surgery and she runs away from the clinic. MEI loses her wallet and she calls SHAU for help. SHAU tells WO about it and WO rushes to Japan to save MEI. WO finds that MEI has rescued an old man KO YEA from committing suicide. YEA misses his deceased wife very much so he has stopped eating. KEA’s wife used to prepare Unagi rice bowl to him all the time. KO tries to prepare Unagi rice bowl to KEA and KEA regains his desire to live. YEA is a famous food critic in Japan and he misconceives that MEI is the one who prepared the Unagi rice bowl for him. The Japanese reporters come to interview MEI and they name her as “ The Beauteous Chef”. MEI’s interview segment has reached Hong Kong audience as well… Encouraged by YEA, WO decides to propose marriage to MEI and MEI agrees. MEI comes back to Hong Kong and announces her marriage plan to everybody. SHAU is happy about it.… ...

SHAU discovers that MEI treats WO as a tool for developing her career. He scolds her and hurts his hand accidentally. MEI asks WO to go to Japan with her but WO wants to stay with the injured SHAU. MEI goes to Japan for filming alone. The executive producer YIM LAI challenges MEI all the time but MEI manages to escape by playing tricks. LAI tries to arrange a contest between MEI and the King of Lamen. MEI needs to make dumpling in front of everybody and she is worried. WO suddenly arrives and teaches her how to make dumpling… MEI and the others go to the Lamen shop to prepare for the contest. AH KONG, a trainee from Hong Kong, suddenly comes to complain that the shop owner is not teaching him how to make dumplings. MEI tells WO about this and WO suggests her to invite KONG’s mother to the contest. In this way, KONG will be encouraged to stay in Japan and MEI will not need to demonstrate her poor cooking skills in front of the public.

YAT appreciates MEI’s performance in the dumpling contest very much and he invites her to be the presenter in an upcoming food programme. MEI’s ex-headmaster asks her to design a healthy lunchbox for the school since many of the students are picky eaters. MEI accepts the invitation but she passes the task to WO. LAI asks another presenter to take MEI’s role while YAT is on vacation. MEI is depressed and she drinks heavily at Ichigo Ichie restaurant. SHAU is heart-broken for her… MEI continues to work hard on designing the healthy lunchbox for students. WO meets a boy KA LOK who just lost his father and he suddenly gets inspiration from him. He suggests that they should encourage the students to design their own healthy lunchbox. MEI forces the TV producer to take video for them without informing LAI. During the video shooting, LAI suddenly arrives to stop them. While fighting with MEI, LAI reveals her past to everybody…

LAI says that she is actually the half blood sister of MEI and MEI calls home to question KWAI. KWAI reveals that MEI was very naughty in the past and LAI was once bitten by a dog because of MEI. LAI’s mother left MEI’s father partly because of this. SHAU visits LAI. LAI brings him to her mother’s grave but she declares that she will not forgive him. MEI learns that the video footage has been passed to LAI. She asks LAI to return the video footage to her but LAI replies that she has thrown it away. YAT returns to Hong Kong and learns that SUM is injured. SUM is actually the younger brother of YAT and he recommends MEI to YAT. MEI gets the presenter job again. WO meets LOK’s mother BOBO and he teaches her how to make Tempura. WO’s elder brother CHUNG CHING returns to Hong Kong. He persuades WO to find a new job but WO rejects the idea.… ...

WO misses MEI’s film shooting schedule because of CHING and MEI pushes WO to the sea angrily. WO is infected by the bacteria from the seawater and he is sent to the hospital. SUM hurts his hand when filming and he goes to the hospital with MEI. SUM assures MEI that he will join the film shooting on the next day. MEI therefore approaches WO again and claims that she has forgiven him. She asks WO to teach him some other cooking techniques for her next day’s performance. MEI wants to give everybody a treat by buying sushi and SHAU voluntarily prepares the food for her. SHAU wants LAI to try the food he prepared but LAI rejects the food. WO persuades LAI to reconcile with SHAU but the other colleagues misconceive that WO is chasing LAI. WO helps SHAU to deliver a diamond ring to LAI and this diamond actually belongs to LAI’s deceased mother. MEI misconceives that WO is really pursuing LAI…

MEI and KWAI misconceive that WO has proposed marriage to LAI. MEI is jealous and she shops crazily. MEI meets LAI in the supermarket and they fight with each other. LAI loses the diamond ring during the fight and WO reveals to MEI that the diamond ring belongs to LAI’s mother. MEI is embarrassed and she discovers that she truly loves WO. The two of them become lovers eventually. LAI is not able to find the diamond ring and MEI tries to buy her a new one as compensation but LAI rejects her. They argue with each other again and YAT reminds LAI to maintain a good working relationship with MEI. Hoping to improve their relationship, YAT asks LAI and MEI to join an outdoor expedition training together. LAI finds the pressure unbearable and she tries to air her grievances to SUM. SUM hints to YAT that LAI is under pressure and YAT cancels the training. LAI therefore believes that SUM and YAT have special relationship.

MEI wants WO to keep their relationship as a secret and WO agrees reluctantly. CHING brings his girlfriend to dine at Ichigo Ichie without paying the bill and KWAI is enraged. WO tries to scold CHING but CHING accuses WO for dating secretly with MEI. CHING brings his girlfriend to Ichigo Ichie for free dinner again and KWAI secretly asks all his girlfriends to come to the restaurant. CHING is abandoned by all his girlfriends and he feels depressed. During the time, CHING discovers that KWAI is dating with KWAN YAN who has a daughter called TUNG TUNG. YAN is actually a very good friend of CHING. CHING tells TUNG that KWAI is a witch. TUNG is so scared that she will vomit whenever KWAI gives her food. MEI learns about the case and she believes that this will be a good topic for her programme. LAI rejects MEI’s idea but MEI insists to go ahead with the topic. They finally decide to take this topic as a contest between them.… ...

KWAI accompanies TUNG to the carnival and everybody is happy for them. LAI watches the video of SHAU playing with TUNG. She remembers that SHAU used to take very good care of her when she was a kid. MEI and WO go shopping in the supermarket and they accidentally finds LAI’s diamond ring. WO persuades MEI to return the ring to LAI. However, MEI and LAI fight with each other again at work. WO and SUM join hands together to mediate between them. MEI, LAI and SHAU finally get a chance to have dinner together. YAN returns to Hong Kong to look for MEI. He reveals to MEI that he has reunited with his ex-wife AH HENG. MEI doesn’t know what to do and he asks YAN to pretend that nothing has happened so that she could continue her programme. During the film shooting, HENG suddenly arrives and YAN has no choice but to reveal the truth to everybody. KWAI is devastated and she cries bitterly.… ...

SHAU’s master KUROKI comes to Hong Kong suddenly. KUROKI finds that WO, the apprentice of SHAU, doesn’t have confidence in cooking and he comments that WO is not a good chef. SHAU feels ashamed about it. WO is worried for him so he goes to Japan to look for KUROKI… MEI is inspired and asks LAI to take video of WO’s Japan trip secretly. Everybody arrive at Japan and follow WO to KUROKI’s place. WO doesn’t have the license to dissect swellfish and he is scared to prepare swellfish for KUROKI. KUROKI is angry and kicks him away. WO leaves a letter at the hotel and disappears. MEI returns to Hong Kong to look for WO and she encourages him to carry on. WO decides to work hard for the swellfish license and KUROKI is pleased about it. WO and MEI return to Hong Kong and SHAU decides to hand over his chef position to WO. WO screws up his courage to propose marriage to MEI.… ...

WO scolds MEI angrily and LAI tries to step aside from the matter. MEI apologizes to WO and WO forgives him eventually. SHAU blames WO and KWAI for spoiling MEI all the time. WO is hesitated and doesn’t know if he should help MEI for the film shooting on the next day. MEI needs to demonstrate Lamen cooking to a widow of the Lamen shop in her programme and she doesn’t know what to do. WO suddenly arrives and he discovers that this widow is BOBO. MEI finds that WO is chatting happily with BOBO and she feels jealous. LAI receives a luxurious car from somebody and SUM discovers that the sender is YAT. YAT claims that he wants to unveil the true colors of LAI. SUM is unhappy and he resorts to drink. He meets LAI in the pub so he seizes the chance to declare his love to her. LAI is shocked and she lies to SUM that she actually has a boyfriend but he is in persistent vegetative state… WO is caught in a car accident.… ...

MEI and WO are going to get married. YAT wants to broadcast their wedding ceremony as a way of promotion and he asks LAI to organize the event. MEI receives a present from one of her fans. This is a fat lady called AH LAN. LAN wants to declare her love to a colleague and she asks MEI to help her in her food programme. MEI rejects her and asks WO to step away from the matter. MEI’s colleagues overhear their conversation. They make a bet that MEI and WO’s marriage will not work out. MEI learns about it and she decides to vent her spleen by filming AH LAN’s case in her next episode. WO discovers that LAN’s target is CHING. MEI lies to WO and CHING that she is suffering from leukemia. She begs CHING to help her by accepting LAN’s love in her programme. CHING later discovers that MEI was telling lies and he is enraged. He goes to Ichigo Ichie to have free dinners again.… ...

After the incident, MEI suddenly disappears and WO looks for her desperately. YAT tells WO that he wants a compensation of thirty million dollars from MEI and he asks LAI to handle the matter for him. MEI resorts to drink and LAI brings her back to her home. SHAU and KWAI try to explain the truth to MEI but MEI insists that she’s going to break up with WO. MEI decides to seduce YAT as a way to escape from the huge compensation. LAI objects the idea and she assures MEI that she will help her. LAI proposes to YAT that WO should replace MEI to host the programme and YAT welcomes the idea… LAI discovers that SUM is visiting her so-called boyfriend RICHARD at the hospital. SUM encourages RICHARD to wake up and reunite with LAI. LAI is deeply touched. SUM’s ex-girlfriend comes to blackmail him and LAI steps in to help. YAT believes that LAI knows the relationship between him and SUM already.… ...

LAI is transferred to Japan. SUM questions LAI for the reason and LAI reacts to him coldly. SUM tries to air his grievances to RICHARD but LAI reveals to him that everything was a lie. SUM is deeply hurt and he stops going to work. MEI calls SUM and SUM reveals everything to her. MEI returns home and accuses LAI for getting the promotion by making use of relationships. LAI finally realizes the relationship between SUM and YAT and she tries to apologize to SUM. YAT suddenly disappears during the tsunami in Indonesia and SUM takes the CEO position temporarily. SUM accuses LAI for changing her attitude suddenly just because he has become the CEO. LAI is very upset and decides to resign from her position. Before she leaves the office, she discovers that everybody is humiliating SUM and she steps in to help him. SUM asks LAI to stay and help him with the management works… YAT returns to Hong Kong safely.… ...

MEI signs the contract without getting the consent of SHAU. SHAU is very angry and he insists that MEI should be responsible for what she has done. WO also tries to lecture MEI but he asks SHAU to help her. On the performance day, SHAU arrives at the venue to demonstrate swellfish dissection. However, just before his performance, he reveals to everybody that he actually has no license for dissecting swellfish. YAT is enraged and he decides to sue SHAU. Everybody think that MEI is unforgivable and LAI kicks her out of the house. MEI tries to look for WO and she discovers that BOBO is fond of WO. WO reveals to MEI that he doesn’t want to see her… People no longer go to Ichigo Ichie after the incident and SHAU decides to close the restaurant. LAI urges SHAU to reveal the truth to her. LAI takes video of their conversation secretly and she edits the footage into a programme.… ...

YAT insists that he will sue SHAU. SUM fights against YAT and YAT appreciates his courage. Being warned by YAT, SUM dares not to keep LAI from the job transfer. CHING throws away WO’s shirt and encourages him to consider pursuing BOBO. WO doesn’t know how to respond to him. CHING visits BOBO to foster her relationship with WO. MEI is enraged and wants to give CHING a lesson. BOBO put MEI in the wrong and WO further confirms that he should stay away from MEI. MEI leaves angrily and she meets her ex-agent MANDY on the street. MANDY wants to introduce MEI to a film investor but MEI actually needs to sleep with that man. MEI tries to escape but she meets SHAU accidentally. SHAU misconceives that MEI is selling her body and he is enraged. MEI finds that her explanation is useless and she suddenly makes up her mind…

After being misunderstood by SHAU, MEI has been disappeared for half a year already. WO and BOBO become lovers. One day when CHING returns home, robbers attack him. CHING forgets to bring his key so he leads the robbers to KWAI’s home. The robbers tide CHING and KWAI together… MO LEUNG, the ex-chef of BOBO’s Lamen Shop, opens a Lamen Shop just besides BOBO’s. BOBO doesn’t know what to do and she asks WO for advice. WO decides to bring BOBO to Japan to buy some ingredients for her shop and BOBO agrees happily. WO meets LAI on the street while BOBO meets MEI. MEI has been learning culinary art in Japan for a while. BOBO deliberately lets MEI realizes that she is already dating WO. MEI is heart-broken and she runs away sadly. MEI leaves behind a mobile phone and WO picks it up coincidentally…

WO realizes that MEI is staying in Japan and he asks LAI to look for her together. LAI consoles WO but she warns him that he should not betray BOBO. WO claims that he only treats MEI as a friend but he pretends that nothing has happened in front of BOBO… LAI learns from the online newspaper that SUM is dating with a very rich lady. She is heart-broken and decides to resign from her job. The love affairs of SUM are rumors only. YAT sends SUM to Japan and asks him to persuade LAI to stay. LAI forces SUM to reveal his true feelings towards her. BOBO is afraid that WO will meet MEI again so she urges him to leave Japan earlier. They meet SHAU in the airport and learn that LAI has been sent to the hospital. WO is delighted for he has an excuse to stay in Japan and look for MEI. SHAU has been addicted to alcohol for a while. He drinks too much and collapses on the street. MEI has been following him secretly and she brings him to the hotel…

WO suddenly receives MEI’s phone call and learns that SHAU is addicted to alcohol. WO meets MEI again and he still has strong feelings on her. BOBO discovers that WO has picked up MEI’s mobile phone and she is worried. WO encourages SHAU to get rid of alcohol addiction. SHAU cannot accept this at first but he finally agrees to obtain treatments. CHING pretends that he is ill all the time and he asks KWAI to take care of him. KWAI later discovers that he is telling lies. CHING’s girlfriend MOMOE wants him to take her out but CHING kicks her away and he declares his love to KWAI… LAI discovers the whereabouts of MEI and she successfully persuades MEI to return. WO is overjoyed and he prepares delicious food for MEI to celebrate for her return. MEI finds that WO has become more mature now. BOBO is worried that WO will reconcile with MEI. On the other hand, MEI frankly expresses to BOBO that she treats her as a rival in love…

MEI deliberately acts intimately with WO in front of BOBO. BOBO is worried and she becomes very hot-tempered in front of her son LOK. LOK worries WO will break up with his mother. He deliberately makes himself ill so that WO will look after him. LAI decides to accept SUM’s love. However, YAT informs her that SUM has gone to Ethiopia to work as a director… WO decides to join the “multinational voluntary chef” programme so that he could exchange his cooking techniques with chefs around the world. Before he leaves, BOBO decides to separate with him and she asks WO to reunite with MEI… Three years later, MEI’s cooking skills have improved a lot. She wins the 2nd runner up prize in a cooking contest and she has becomes a real “Beauteous Chef”. The TV station invites MEI to demonstrate cooking in their programmes. On the other hand, WO has been learning a lot of new cooking techniques around the world in the past three years.… ...
