When a politician’s daughter is kidnapped in the middle of a busy museum, memory researcher Dr. Jasmin Braun is tasked with questioning a group of witnesses. Her value is proved through an interview with the girl’s nanny.

While the police search for suspected kidnapper Darius Kempa, Jasmin is convinced to consult renowned psychologist and Darius’ lecturer Max Felsner. Digging into his memories, Jasmin discovers a clue that might lead to Darius.
Darius Kempa continues to be the lead suspect in the case. He finally states that he’ll give himself up and release Emma, but under one condition - that he will be given an explanation for Laura Rohloff’s death 25 years ago.
With Dr. Konrad’s help, Jasmin learns who is the mastermind behind the kidnapping. But as she tries to work out what exactly happened when Laura died, a memory from her own past comes to light and changes what she knew.
