Flowers for My Father

A short film about the daily holiday life of an enigmatic and rather luminous creature. "La journée de Milenka" is a footage of her holiday in Italy. We decided not to record it as usual footages, but instead, focus on the time and space surrounding the character. It represents a day, in the afternoon, that reflect the peace, itself represented in the slowness, which Milenka aspires (and finds) to achieve.

Hand processed expired Kodak 7291, Camera: Beaulieu R16, Lens: Angenieux 12-120mm with +3 Diopter, Polarising filter for the clouds. Hand processed in C-41 chem using a Lomo UPB-1A tank. Still haven't mastered removal of the rem-jet anti-halation layer (thats all the white 'static' on the film). The film expired about 40 years ago.

Shot in two places marrying with each other by a single and fractured bridge between Condrieu and les Roches-de-Condrieu, this film is the continuation of exploring ephemeral movement through the use of editing, camera movements and color sampling.

A memorial mourns as time passes

Beauty on the Wing: Life Story of the Monarch Butterfly is a 56-minute narrated film that unfolds along the shores of Cape Ann and in the heart of Mexico’s forested volcanic mountains. Every stage of the butterfly’s life cycle is experienced in vibrant close-up, from mating to egg to caterpillar to adult, and set against the backdrop of sea and forest, sun and wind.

The film accompanies a Turkish family of three on their vacation in Turkey. Their daughter Jale, born in Karlsruhe, was supposed to get to know her home in south-eastern Turkey.

During Summer 2000, the mayor of the Greek island of Lesbos tried to ban 26 lesbians from arriving on a package holiday from the UK; but he ended up biting off more than he could chew. This programme follows the love, lust and laughs over the course of their holiday as the women drink, dance and snog their way around the island. Despite being shadowed by the papparazi and some negative islanders, nothing can stop our women from fighting for their right to party.
