Eleven-year-old petty criminal Maroa lives with her violent grandmother Brigida in Caracas. After her boyfriend Carlos is involved in a shooting, Maroa is arrested and sent to a school where Joaquin conducts the youth orchestra, and he asks the naturally talented Maroa to join. Days now revolve around the classes that Joaquin, the shy and unconventional teacher, gives her. He is immediately interested in this talented young girl, who lacks all notion of discipline. A theatrical production by the independent theater company JEDL from Divadlo X10. The proven trio of creators Nebeský-Trmíková-Prachař used an ancient theme for original variations and reflections on the relationship between women and men and on the boundaries that cannot be crossed, even when love turns into mad hatred. The creators also invited painter I. Korpaczewski, conceptual artist M. Titlová Ylovsky, and musician J. Šikl to participate in the production, directly involving them in the dramatic form, thus creating the work in action, right in front of the audience.

Part music video and part documentary, Off to the Races is a new arrangement of the classic Erhu song, Horse Race. The film is a collaboration between the Calgary Chinese Orchestra, filmmaker Vicki Van Chau, and music producer Warren Tse. Through an open call process, the film features 72 participants from the global music community playing with the members of the Calgary Chinese Orchestra, in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
