Ørkenens Sønner: En fez i en hornlygte

Talegaver Til Børn celebrated its 15th anniversary in December 2007 with three sold-out shows at Forum. The FBI's annual charity show was produced in collaboration with Unicef. For 15 years, between Christmas and New Year's Eve, people have been able to laugh for a good cause in the company of the country's best stand-up comedians, and the 2007 shows definitely lived up to the success of previous years.

Anders "Anden" Matthesen's critically acclaimed stand-up show from 2000-2001. About a show that shares its name with Børneradio's popular satire CD (which was made by the same man) ...but which is nevertheless something completely different! About a one-man show with four men on stage? About two hours of varied comedy, ranging from classic stand-up to music, sketches, and a host of guests.

Meet the four lodge brothers from the Sons of the Desert and their secret lodge, where discipline is strictly enforced with sashes, tuxedos, and mandatory fez hats. The lodge's agenda ranges from crude jokes and bawdy stories, daring physical exercises, and risqué songs to a rousing musical performance...

The release marks yet another occasion on which the four actors Søren Pilmark, Niels Olsen, Asger Reher, and Henrik Koefoed have elevated bawdiness to a higher level. It contains a beautifully varied two-hour show with a brand new Western theme, featuring Niels Olsen in suspenders and fishnet stockings as General Custer, lodge sketches with the brotherhood, Fjærtoman, Asger Reher performing a spectacular stunt in alternative farts, and four-part singing from the four brothers, who totally knock the audience out with barely concealed bawdy innuendos.

As summer arrived in Denmark, Ørkenens Sønner took to the stage at Bellevue Teatret on Thursday, June 5, in front of an excited premiere audience. The nerves that had built up among the four desert sons leading up to the premiere quickly proved to be totally unnecessary—the premiere was a resounding success, and praise from both the audience and critics rained down on Ørkenens Sønner.

In spring 2016, Christian Fuhlendorff is ready with a new one-man show, “It doesn't matter what others think, right?”, which this time emphasizes fun over an actual theme. But then again, maybe the theme is that it just has to be hilarious!

With the show HELDIG, Mark is on a mission he describes as: “To bring the laughter back when there's sometimes not a hell of a lot to laugh about”. HELDIG is about getting a chance to embrace the bumps in the road instead of always painting the devil on the wall. The idea for the new one-man show HELDIG actually originated in BØVL, where he worked with the moral: “that it doesn't pay to worry, because your greatest fears rarely come true”. As it turned out, this moral had a tragicomic outcome in the comedian's own life. A week after the show premiered on TV, Mark got the news from his doctor that they thought he had cancer. "The human in me was scared, but the comedian in me was deeply impressed by the timing! Two things are certain: 1: I can't wait to get out there with my new show. 2: I don't dare bring a big moral" - says an otherwise fit-for-fight Mark le Fêvre.

Line 3 has achieved Denmark's absolute highest sales record. For the performances in the Glass Hall in Tivoli, the Circus Building, and the national tour, a quarter of a million tickets were sold in advance before the premiere.

Linie 3 celebrates its silver anniversary. In 1979, Anders Bircow, Thomas Eje, and Preben Kristensen made their debut as the group LINIE 3, and the trio is now celebrating its 25th anniversary with the release of the critically acclaimed 25th Anniversary Show. The last 25 years have brought the three gentlemen into contact with TV, film, cartoons, solo shows, and theater performances, all of which have provided plenty of inspiration for the LINE 3 collaboration. Regardless of their individual endeavors, the trio has always come together in their musical playground and entertained all of Denmark with their polished and elegant shows.

With the new show Optur, it's time to laugh and have a good time again, where Simon Talbot in his usual style transforms themes from his own life, such as hair loss, social media, cats, gaming, nose hair, Danish laws, the contrast of growing up with a Jehovah's Witness mother and Irish street boy father, married life, women's overly hot baths, and much much more, into jokes we can all laugh at. Over the past year, Simon has had stress reactions, spent too much time on social media, watched (way) too much Tiger King and acquired a sugar addiction, which he turns into a brand new Danish-language comedy show.

Highly satirical and personal show about remembering not only to survive but also to live while surviving. Including bizarre detours to everything from sumo wrestling nets, Glyngøre hand sanitizer, press, politics, percentages, privilege blindness and other things with a ‘p’. And of course everything that lands on the shelf ‘The heated polo match between the sexes’.

One minute you're biting your nails at world events, and the next you're laughing in impotence. Michael Schøt has spent most of his stand-up career in the space between these two emotions. His ability to capture the zeitgeist here and now, but playfully observe it from the outside, has thrilled not only audiences, but also critics - who over the years have attached words like “one of the best stand-up comedians in Denmark”, “a comic elemental force”, ‘virtuoso’ and “the absolute sharpest and fastest satirist in the media” to him. Jubelpessimist is a show about an eternal optimist in a gloomy world. A shot of joy, warmth and laughter for the dark times.

The show is about finding yourself by looking inside yourself. More specifically, it is about recognizing that you are a bad feminist and finding peace with that. About not letting your opinions be dictated by others and about how some people cannot claim ownership of a word or a definition. It is about there being room to be bad at something and that it is perfectly okay. In the spring of 2017, you can experience Zulu Comedy Galla Talent Award winner Ane Høgsberg in her debut one-woman show for the first time. She will be accompanied by a surprise warm-up act, which (without giving too much away) proves that the stand-up industry is not made up of white, oppressive men, but is actually full of supportive and good colleagues who can recognize talent when they see it and are always willing to back it up and, well, well, warm up for one of the new stars in the Danish stand-up firmament.
