Red Sorghum is a Chinese television series based on Nobel laureate Mo Yan's 1986/1987 eponymous novel. Directed by Zheng Xiaolong, it also features the highly-anticipated return of actress Zhou Xun to television after 10 years.

Set in a Western-style house in Shanghai's French Concession, the film spans decades of change. Once home to the Lin family, the house is transformed into a maternity hospital in the 1930s, then a factory in the 1950s after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
