After the success of the live 1957 Cinderella on CBS (with Julie Andrews), the network decided to produce another television version. At the weigh ins, Emmanuel Sanchez missed the 146-pound featherweight limit, coming in at 149.5 pounds. The fight was changed to a catchweight.
