Free access to the Gaza Strip has remained closed to international journalists since the war began on October 7, 2023. The Sunshine will explore the ultimate universal question how and why people get prepared to risk everything. The movie will tell the story of human struggle and not just merely make a political statement. Director Leena Manimekalai says, The Sunshine is unique and personal because it has the autobiographical touch of her friend and writer Shobasakthi.

Hasan Everywhere is an animation which broaches the subtlety of a relationship between a man and a woman who bear the passports of enemies, to sympathetically deal with the subjects of death, grief, lost opportunity; but mostly it seeks to demonstrate the possibility of friendship triumphing over the deepest of rifts between two people. In that regard it is most unusual among the standard fare of animated shorts.

In the midst of the war in Gaza, 5-year-old Hind Rajab and her family seek safety. To escape reality, they dance to loud music in the car. Their flight is abruptly stopped by an Israeli tank that opens fire without warning. Trapped in the car, surrounded by tanks, the girls try to hold on.
