Produced by Jack Schwartz for low-budget company Screen Guild, this mild Western starring the veteran Richard Arlen was apparently the first entry in a proposed series. Arlen played the title role, here assigned by the army to quell an Indian attack on the powerless settlers. The Indians are accusing Tom Russell (John Dexter) of murdering a member of the tribe, an act, as Buffalo Bill discovers, actually committed by a gang of outlaws hired by investment company owner J.B. Jordon (Frank O'Connor). Buffalo Bill Rides Again was soundly defeated by a low budget and slipshod direction by the veteran Bernard B. Ray. Popular B-Western villain Ted Adams disappeared mysteriously halfway through the film, only to be replaced by Edmund Cobb. Jennifer Holt, the daughter of Arlen contemporary Jack Holt and by far the busiest B-Western heroine of the 1940s, had little to do other than letting herself be kidnapped by evil Gil Patric.

In the 1830s, legendary outlaw Farkos Csapó Gyurka escapes from prison and returns to the Hungarian Great Plain to avenge his betrayal and reclaim his dominance over the puszta. While the local impoverished herdsmen protect him, a determined peace officer relentlessly hunts the bandit to establish modern legal order.

The division superintendent of the Montana Idaho R.R. finds it necessary to buy the property of an old settler in order to clear the right of way. The old man, with his daughter, has occupied the same cabin for years, and refuses to sell his holdings. The superintendent wires the general manager, who sends Broncho Billy, his assistant, with orders to get possession of the land at any cost. Broncho offers the old man an enormous amount, but is flatly refused. The daughter then leads Broncho into the yard, where he is shown the grave in which her mother has been laid to rest several years before. This is their reason for refusing to sell.

Blake, the crooked foreman of a cattle ranch, murders a sheep rancher. Then after framing ranch hand Jack for the murder, he urges the ranch hands to hang him. The marshal is compelled to arrest his brother-in-law for accidentally shooting a Mexican. His wife pleads for his release, but it is ineffectual. When he is asleep, she takes the calaboose keys from his pocket, but finds that the prisoner has been helped out by a "half-breed.". The marshal is awakened by her return and discovers that his keys are gone.

Frankie, a transgender woman, is broke and unable to afford the sex change operation that he desires. He decides to deliver a briefcase for quick money, not realizing it’s full of illegal drugs. Pony, a wannabe cowboy who has trouble with love, falls for Frankie, not realizing he was born a man, and botches the briefcase delivery with Vinnie, an incompetent aspiring gangster, and the two end up on the run. Along the way, they realize they’re not just pretending to be someone they’re not – their identities are what make them unique.

A recluse bounty hunter rescues a journalist from being executed by an underground criminal organization, but only triggers a more daring threat. Now the two must escape the clutches of the crime ring by taking it down from the top.

Traces is an existential Western about a renegade man who is haunted by his inner demons for the crimes he committed throughout his life as he pursues his search for peace and redemption.

During the War of Secession, a northern army officer hides the gold necessary to purchase horses and weapons in the wagon's wheels. Unfortunately, the journey is more complicated than expected when the two naive drivers sell the wheels to an Indian, and the wagon gets attacked by southern troops!
